[[For Lloyd ]] It wasn’t every day that the scholar went to less savory places of Pandora. Sure, most of Pandora was easily considered ‘less savory’ but there were some places worse than others. Hollow Point was….well it was a pretty rough town and he didn’t usually go into places like that, because for whatever reason bandits tended to see him as an easy target. Maybe it was the leg, or the arm, or the silver in his hair- or maybe it was just the way he carried himself. Who knew. Still, he found himself in what could only be considered the bad end of Pandoran towns and somehow managed to find himself unhindered. It didn’t take long for his attention to be caught by the purple sign, and- oh that was rather delightful now wasn’t it? He smiled to himself, recognizing a bar for what it was, and made his way in- with no resistance from the muscle at the door. The inside was, in his eyes, lovely. It had a sort of charm to it that few places he had seen possessed, and it felt unusually nice to be in a bar that wasn’t owned by Moxxi for once. Obvious that it wasn’t, he thought, since she would never hire a Hodunk. The place was…well it was a little devoid of life, but he supposed it was a quiet night. The bartender was in at least, and he found a place to sit at the bar, casting a smile to the younger man. “ What a marvelous establishment.” He beamed, clearly impressed thus far.

Hollow Point was a dangerous place for even a planet like Pandora, however it had his merits. Most of the time people didn’t really ask many questions towards those who knew to live within it, and there was enough shady underhand work that any people could pick up what was likely fairly regularly to bring in some sort of income and food.
August had every opportunity to have moved the Purple Skag since his mother died, but he was fond of the bar and didn’t really mind it much where it was already at. Besides it functioned as an exceptionally useful front for his work otherwise, and it being here in Hollow Point didn’t bring along too many people snooping where they didn’t need to.
A good distraction, really… except for nights like tonight.
While there were a few of the loyal regulars scattered around the bar, doing their own thing and keeping to themselves, but otherwise the bar was exceptional levels of dead. Even the blond man was bored – there were only so many times he could wash the counter and clean up everything behind the bar before it became rather on the pointless side.
Someone new coming into his bar though? That was an interesting change of pace.
When the distinguished gentlemen ambled his way in, allowed by without any hassle by Tector, he definitely earned himself a curious look from the bartender. Now he saw all sorts on and off, especially on the busy nights, but this sort of customer definitely wasn’t exactly on the commonplace side.
Huh.. “Lotta work’s been put into it.” That… wasn’t even a lie or a boast. “What’ll you be having?”

He could understand the appeal of a place like Hollow Point, even if he himself had no desire to be involved in such things. He wasn’t really someone who reveled in illegal activities or sought them out for any reason- hunting related smuggling aside after all. Not that he tended to mention his little adventure in illegally importing Threshers. The less people knew about his involvement in that whole mess the better.
Something told him it would paint a target on his head after all, they had really become quite a nuisance.
Of course, if he knew what kind of work was going on behind the scenes at the bar, it’s location would make more sense- but the romantic in him thought every small town deserved a decent bar. It gave the locals a place to gather under a common flag, if only for a night, for a few rounds of drinks. It was really the unifying point of a community- or well…it was in all the best stories he thought. Seemed only fitting to him.
He was distinctly aware that quite a number of eyes were trained on him when it was clear he was a stranger, and a remarkable one at that. People were quick to pick up on a new presence in their midst, especially deep in the heart of bandit country like this.
“You can certainly tell.” Praise where it was well-earned because honestly the whole place was pretty wonderful, it had a lot of charm. He liked it. “I will admit, I am curious if you have a ah- a special, something you are well known for in these parts?” Spoken with the curiosity of a man who knew the best way to understand a place was by understanding what made it unique.

Hammerlock stuck out like a sore thumb on multiple levels. On a planet such as Pandora where everyone tended towards being swift to jump on what was almost certainly illegal the worst thing of him going after the increasingly dangerous game was… rather on the mild end of the spectrum, and that was putting it excessively lightly at that.
Of course it stood to reason that people would take issue when it came to the whole thresher situation – they were an unnecessary thorn in the sides of people who certainly already had a lot to deal with, and had slaughtered many. For once it was probably… a rather reasonable anger.
If August had any clue given the nature of the older man’s thoughts pertaining to his bar he’d probably laugh his ass off until he started hiccupping… and then laugh some more. There really wasn’t anything exceptionally romantic about the bar – maybe it was a little bit on the classy side, all things considering, but it was supposed to make a decent impression. That was kinda a part of the appeal.
While he had earned some curious looks from what few other patrons were scattered around no one really paid him too much attention – busy with their drinks and their own business anyway. Snagging up a clean bar cloth August wiped his hands on it – he’d been cleaning out one of the taps to keep it from getting stick or, even worse, filthy and making his customers ill – counterproductive things, you know!
The praise only earned a brow raised slightly, that vague almost suspicion there and gone. “There’s several here that you won’t find anywhere else. What do you feel more up for right now - knock ya on your ass, get you shitfaced in a few drinks, or less so?” People tended to like things damn strong down here in Hollow Point. August accommodated at least on the drinking side of needs there.
